11-day �jatra� festival begins today

An 11-day long jatra, traditional drama performance, festival will begin today at Mymensingh Gymnasium to revive the cultural heritage jatra pala.
Nirmal Jatra Utsab Udjapon Parishad, Mymensingh, arranged the festival.
Convener of the parishad and cultural personalities Amir Ahmed Chowdhury Ratan announced the programmes of the festival at a press conference at Mymensingh press club yesterday.
He said the objectives of the festival are to revive the past heritage and fame glory of Jatra industries in the country as well as free the industry from the capture of obscene.
