Begumganj Jamaat leader arrested

Detective Branch of police arrested joint general secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami, district unit and also vice chairman of Begumganj upazila from  Karimpur in Noakhali early yesterday. Police also seized three crude bombs and a weapon from his possession.   
The arrestee is Maulana Bhorhan Uddin.
According to DB police sources, on secret information, a team of DB police raided Bhorhan Uddin’s house at Karimpur in Chowmohnai town and arrested him. He was an accused in three cases including murder and arson thattook place during January hartal and blockade programme.
Officer-in-charge of DB in Noakhali Ataur Rahman said in January Jamaat and BNP activists locked in a clash with police that left two people dead.
A case was filed accusing 3,000 people in this connection. Maulana Bhorhan Uddin is one of them.
