BENAPOLE: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives arrested 55 Bangladeshi nationals while they were attempting to cross into India illegally through Putkhali and Doulatpur borders here on Tuesday night, reports UNB.
The arrestees hail from different areas of Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira districts.
In-charge of Putkhali BGB-23 camp Subedar Farid Uddin said on secret information, separate teams of the border force conducted drives in the areas at night and arrested the 55 Bangladeshi nationals, including 22 women and seven children who were trying to go to India without valid documents.
Later, BGB troops handed them over to Benapole Port police station.
A case was filed in this connection.
