Youth burns siblings for property

A cruel brother allegedly set fire to his two minor brothers for property at Polashgar village in Jamalpur sadar on Tuesday night.
Police said Muslim Uddin an inhabitant of Polashgar  registered his 60 decimals of land in the name of his four sons and kept 22 decimals of land in his name for maintenance of his two younger sons as his wife died a year ago.
But his second son Mozammel, 18, has been creating pressure on his father to register the rest of the land in his name.
As Muslim Uddin denied his proposal Mozammel poured kerosene on his two brothers-Mridul, 6 and Maruf, 5 at 11 pm when they were asleep.
Hearing the screams for help victims elder brother Majnu Miah rushed to the spot and took them to Jamalpur General Hospital.
Dr Nure Alam of the hospital said Maruf received 12 per cent burn injuries and Mridul 3 per cent. After the incident Mozammel went into hiding. Police said a case will be registered in this regard.
