JoBike service at DU from today

JoBike, Bangladesh’s first bicycle sharing app, is going to start its experimental Journey at Dhaka University campus from today and the formal operation from October 16.
Confirming the matter to UNB, Student Transport secretary of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Shams E Noman said, "An experimental service will start from 7th October and around 100 bicycles will be launched from the test run day and latter the number will be increased.” “The fare for those bicycles will be kept at a reduced rate compared to other transport of the campus. It will cost Tk2.5 for first 5 minutes then Tk0.4 to be charged against next each minute", he added. The whole project will be run under the name DU Chakkar. JoBike bicycle sharing app -- started its journey from the tourist hub city of Cox’s Bazar on January 2018. Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) panel promised to introduce bike service at the University campus centering the Ducsu election, which was held on March 11.
Book unveiling ceremony held at UIU

A book unveiling ceremony titled ‘Stochastic Processes and their Applications in Business’,written by Prof Dr Abu Sufian was held at United International University Auditorium on Saturday, says a press release.
Prof Dr Kazi Shahidullah,chairman of the University Grants Commission unveiled the book being present as the chief guest while Vice-chancellor of UIU Prof Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman presided over the ceremony. UIU pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr Hasnan Ahmed, vice-chancellor of different universities and teachers were present, among others. Prof Dr Kazi Shahidullah, said ‘The infrastructure of most private universities in the country is not standardized.
In that case, United International University has created a green campus and set a rare precedent.’ The purpose of this book is to help students and researchers to understand the basic concepts of stochastic processes and to equip them with skills necessary to conduct stochastic analysis.
