Woman killed in Pirojpur

A mother of six children was found dead at Uttar Poikkhali village in Bhandaria upazila  early yesterday under unclear circumstances.

The deceased was identified as Beauty Begum, 40, wife of Md Firoz Alam of the area.

Quoting family members and locals, SM Maksudur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bhandaria Police Station said some unidentified miscreants slaughtered Beauty around 12:30am and dumped the body outside the door.

On information, police recovered the body around 1:30am and sent it to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital for autopsy, OC added.

Beauty’s husband and two others were detained for interrogation, the OC said.
