Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director and its Cricket Operations Committee Chairman Akram Khan tipped the next tour in India as tough and important for them, saying that they are trying to take their better preparation for this tour.

Akram also says that they have sent their teams twice in India considering their next India tour in mind because their World Test Championship (WTC), coined by International Cricket Council (ICC), will start with the series.

Bangladesh will play two Tests along with three-match Twenty20 International series during their tour in India in November.

“We have a tour in India next that is equally important for us,” said Akram Khan.

“You all know India are better side. They are stronger more on home soil. It’ll be tough tour for us. With this series, our Test Championship will also be started. Keeping that in mind, we have dispatched our team twice in India. That was a good preparation for our players,” Akram told media at his BCB office of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur yesterday.

He informs that they will commence their training camp for the next India tour from October 25.

He said they have planned in such a way so that their national players can play at least two rounds of games of the national Cricket League (NCL) before going to play the next tour in the next door neighboring country.

“The National Cricket League (NCL) is slated to start from October 10. We are planning with the league,” he said.

“Our team will play two formats of games in India series-Twenty20 Internationals and Test. The camp of our team for the India tour will begin on October 25. It’s important for our country’s cricket,” he added.

Today Durjoy, Sujon and Akram held a closed-door meeting where they discussed regarding the coaching development of Bangladesh what Akram disclosed to media. He said they discussed about the development of coaching whether it needs or not for them.

“We’ve discussed about coaching development. Along with that, we have talked how we can improve their standard.  Have we needed any more coaches? Those who are in the board are needed for further,” he said.

“The departments we have –HP, Cricket Operations or Games Development-work in tandem. It’s important for the country,” he added.

When asked about Shakib, He said, “He (Shakib) will return home before the start of our training camp that will kick off October 25. He will be remained in this tour.”

Regarding Bangladesh team’s tour in Pakistan in February, 2020, Akram said the government will take the final decision regarding the Pakistan tour. But he said the security will obviously be important for the tour.

“Our honourable board president told the security issue is the biggest issue for us. That’s really true. The decision is not only for the cricket board, it’s also for the government,” he replied.

“Where we play? The decision is yet to complete. We will play Dubai or Pakistan that depends on Pakistan. The discussion is going on. May be it’ll be finalised within the next 10 days. This decision will be taken in the board meeting,” he said.

“The green signal to tour in Pakistan has to come from both sides,” added.

When asked about preparation for the Bangabandhu BPL, Akram said they have to take their final decision within the next two-days as the time is not much for them.

“I’m not involved in BPL accordingly. No discussion is held over BPL for the last seven-eight days,” he said.

“I don’t know about it. As two months remained, we could be understood within the next one week where it trends to go,” he also said.

“It’s tight. Time has been gone tight. So we have to take our final decision within the next two-three days. If we want to do it, we have to do it within this time frame. We will not get time for it,” he concluded.
