Attempt to grab journos land flouting High Court order

Ignoring a High Court order, some people are allegedly trying to occupy the land of a journalist at his village home in Dulla Ramdev of Delduar in Tangail district. According to locals and the plaintiff, some local people including Jewel, Sharif, Motaleb, sons of Ismail Hossain alias Myna Kha, Shahida, wife of late Abdul Kader, Lutfa, wife of late Kashem, and Firoza, wife of late Khorshed, are trying to construct a makeshift structure on the land belonging to Anisur Rhaman Khan, a special correspondent of The Independent.
Khan filed a writ petition (no 1354) with the High Court on February 12 this year against Ismail Hossain son of late Moslem Uddin and others over their attempt to grab the land.
After a hearing a High Court bench comprising Justice Md. Ashfaqul Islam and Justice Mohammad Ali passed an order to maintain status-quo in respect of possession and position of the land.
However, Ismail Hossain, with the help of some ruling party people, allegedly destroyed the fence and a tin-shed structure of the journalists village home on March 18.
On Friday night, the group made another attempt to occupy the land. The matter was informed to the Delduar Police Station, Khan told reporters.
I am living in Dhaka. So, the rogue people are trying to occupy my village land taking the chance of my absence, he added.
When contacted, Delduar police OC Saidul Haque Bhuiyan said, We have received a warrant against the perpetrators today (Saturday). We are going to take action over the warrant.
A police team was sent to the spot to investigate the matter, he added.
