Beximco to export LPG to Tripura

Beximco LPG, a concern of the country’s leading business conglomerate Beximco group, is going to export liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to Tripura, a northeastern state of India. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is on a four-day visit to India, inaugurated the project of LPG export with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in Delhi yesterday. Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman, who is also the vice-chairman of Beximco Group, was present at the inauguration program.  Beximco LPG will export the LPG to Indian state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), which will bottle and sell the product to consumers. After Tripura, the company will gradually start exporting LPG into other northeastern states of India, an official with the Beximco LPG said. Earlier, Beximco LPG exported a consignment of LPG to Tripura in August on a trial basis. As the LPG export has been inaugurated, the company will now send regular consignments of LPG to the Indian state, the Beximco LPG official said.
