Mohammed Yasin slammed home his header twice, as Bangladesh won their second successive FIFA friendly match against Bhutan yesterday. Bangladesh, who suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Bhutan in Thumpu in 2016, after winning the yesterday’s FIFA friendly, won their three encounters in a row. The match, which was kicked off with Bangladesh, looked a bit disorganised and playing plenty of miss-passes at the early stage, as the visitors took the advantages to put the hosts under pressure. Bhutan, who conceded four goals against scoring one in their first match on September 1 in a rain-affected ground, looked a quite different side in a beautiful green pitch of Bangabandhu National
Stadium when they also created a half chance to score a goal. The Bhutan coach Pema told in a pre-match press conference on Wednesday that his team would play better if the ground hadn’t been affected by rain, and his side really played better than first match but could not rout the hosts.
However, Bangladesh were increasingly settled down and struck on 22nd minute to break the deadlock when Yasin marked the target with a beautiful close range header on a long throw-in from Rayhan Hassan, who came out from reserved bench after Shushanta Tripura got injury (1-0).
Bangladesh could double the advantage three minutes later but a close range effort of Jibon missed the target.
Jibon, who settled up the faith on him with his double strike proving the all-important deciders in their 4-1 victory over Bhutan in the first match trying to push a left side cross of Shufil into net with his chest, narrowly passed up of the side post on 25th minute.
Bhutan who were better than their first match, were about to get the equalizer from a counter attack on 31st minute but a powerful strike of Dawa Tshering from the goal-mouth melee was straight to goalkeeper Sohel.
Bangladesh, who had struggled to get going in the first half, looked more like their usual dominant character after the break and deservedly doubled the lead on 67th minute through a superb header of Yasin on a substitute Ibrahim lob (2-0).
Bangladesh despite grabbed their successive third win against Bhutan after a historic 1-3 defeat in 2016, but could leave the ground on the day with a big margin win but lack of perfect finishing from the strikers, they could not boost up the difference.
But the host outshined the visitors obviously with their second half performance, as they played almost with full dominance and Bangladesh proved the difference with their Bhutanese counterpart winning by 4-1 in the first match.
