Walton starts exporting to Iraq

Walton, a local electronics brand, started exporting compressors of refrigerators to Iraq.
Walton authorities also hoped to expand their business to other Middle East countries with different types of products of the company.
Mohanad Al Drraji, Charges dAffaires of the embassy of Iraq to Bangladesh, inaugurated the compressor export at a function at Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd (WHIL) in Chandra of Gazipur on Tuesday, the company said a press statement issued yesterday.
As Walton has own compressor manufacturing facilities, the local brand has already started exporting compressor parts and components to Germany, Slovakia and Austria, the statement added.
Mohanad Al Drraji said, Iraq has a huge potential market for Bangladeshi products. He believes Walton products will be well- accepted in Iraq.
The function was also attended by SM Ashraful Alam, managing director of WHIL, and SM Rezaul Alam, director of the company.
Terming the compressor export as the beginning of a new business era between Bangladesh and Iraq, SM Ashraful Alam, said, We have become a trusted local brand in the consumer Electrical and Electronics (EE) industry in Bangladesh through our strong manufacturing base, quality product, competitive price, extensive market coverage and prompt after sales services.
Recently, Walton signed contracts with South-Korean brand Hyundai and a renowned brand in India for supplying them huge quantity of consumer electronics. The Made in Bangladesh Walton products are also going to be available in North American market through worlds top e-commerce platform Amazon.
Prior to inaugurating compressor export to Iraq, Mohanad Al Drraji and his entourages visited the product display center and various production units including refrigerator, compressor, dye mold, glass-door, air conditioner, LED TV, laptop etc.
