Rohingya youth arrested

OUR CORRESPONDENT, Jamalpur

Police arrested a Rohingya youth from Jamalpur railway station in the town yesterday evening.

The youth was identified as Rubel, 22, son of Abdur Rahman, inhabitant of Mundu area in Myanmar.

Quoting the Rohingya youth, police said Rubel escaped from the carnage of Myanmar Army and fled into Bangladesh. He took shelter at Moushuri camp in Bangladesh but his father Abdur Rahman and his family members were killed by the Myanmar Army. Police said He came out from the camp for work and was arrested at Jamalpur Railway station.

OC of Jamalpur Police station Md Salemuzzaman said the Rohingya youth will be handed over to the Ukhia police in Cox’s Bazar.
