Youth dies of ‘drug overdose’

A young man died of suspected drug overdose in Phulbari upazila on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Faruk Mia, 25, son of Abdul Karim of Mogolhat in Lalmonirhat district.

Fuad Ruhani, officer-in-charge of Phulbari Police Station, said Faruk fell sick after taking Yaba with his friends at night. Later, he was taken to the local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Yakub Ali Sardar, resident medical officer of Phulbari Upazila Health Complex, said they suspect the young man died of drug overdose.
