Emerging team loses series to India

With back to back defeats in the 3rd and 4th one-dayers, touring Bangladesh Emerging Team lost the ongoing five matches one-day series 3-1 at the hands of India U23 with a match to spare at Lucknow in India.

The series defeat came after the Saif Hasan led U23 team lost the fourth one-dayers by four wickets at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Vihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket stadium yesterday.

Opting to bat, it was almost the duplicate of the previous match as Bangladesh U23 team lost the top four batsmen inside 15 overs of their innings.

Despite the opposition’s control over the match, Ariful Haque and Al Amin stayed in the crease with a 56-run stand for the 5th wicket to get some momentum back for the side. But since the duo fell cheaply scoring 44 and 40 respectively the visitors were reduced to 126-6. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mahidul Islam played yet another knock what he did in the last match, scoring unbeaten 51, produced a 76-run partnership with Robiul Haque for the 7th wicket to help post Bangladesh U23 201.

Chasing a below par target of 202, the hosts also had the similar start with the bat after Sumon Khan and Shafiqul Islam sent both the opposition openers in two successive overs to make the chase tricky for the hosts. When it was all about a partnership needed, India U23 skipper Priyam Garg stood and deliver for his side.
