Capacity of Mongla Port increases: Khalid

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury yesterday said the capacity of Mongla seaport has increased as the present government took realistic and effective initiatives.

“The capacity of Mongla Port has increased for taking effective initiatives by the government…And our neighbouring countries are now enjoying the facilities of the seaport,” he told reporters after attending a meeting at Mongla Port conference room here, a press release said.

The meeting discussed the development and modernisation of Mongla Port, increasing facilities of the port users, ensuring navigability of Mongla channel and construction of Khanjahan Ali Airport.
