Man to die for murder

A court here on Tuesday sentenced a man to death for killing a youth in 2018.

The condemned convict is Uzzal Sheikh, son of Khabiruddin Sheikh of Purbopara of Islamic University thana.

According to the prosecution, Uzzal stabbed Abdullah Hossain to death at his home at Poradaha village in Mirpur upazila on February 14, 2018 as Abdullah’s sister, a student of Kushtia Government College, turned down hisproposal for developing a love affair with him.

A murder case was filed the following day.

After examining the records and witnesses, district and sessions judge Arup Kumer Goswami handed down the verdict.
