South Africa women’s cricket team tour of Bangladesh was delayed further as it would not arrive in Bangladesh today, as was previously announced by both the BCB and Cricket South Africa.
A security official of CSA however is in Dhaka at the moment.
The tour was earlier temporarily postponed due to CSA's security fears following Australia's postponement of their men's team's tour to Bangladesh for the same reasons.
South Africa Women were supposed to play three ODIs on November 6, 8 and 10, and four T20s on November 12, 13, 15 and 16 but the latest development may shorten the tour as the Zimbabwe women’s team also would tour the Bangladesh in this month. The BCB CEO ruled out any security concern and said the tour was delayed this time for purely logistic reasons
"The Cricket South Africa told us that due to logistical reasons, the team cannot arrive on Tuesday,” said BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
“They cited logistic problems. We hope the problems will be solved soon and they’ll announce a fresh date of arrival. We will work out the new dates with them since the Zimbabwe women's team are also arriving on November 15 or 16. In that case, we may have to shorten the tour. Those details will be known soon,” the BCB CEO said.
