Khulna look certain to clinch NCL title

Khulna Division sensed a chance of clinching the title of the National Cricket League (NCL) after the third successive day of the match between Dhaka and Dhaka Metro was washed out due to heavy rain.
Both of the Metro and Dhaka were six and seven points adrift of Khulna respectively and it would be tough for both of them to topple Khulna even though they could play one innings on the fourth day, which still looks unlikely due to heavy outfield at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
On a day when Khulna heaved a sigh of relief, Mominul Haque hogged the headline hitting his maiden first class double century.
Riding on his 239, Chittagong amassed 423 for eight against Barisal Division on the third day at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
Rajshahi on the other hand, sealed a comfortable 10-wicket win over Sylhet inside three days in an inconsequential match in the Tier-2 at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.

Chittagong vs Barisal
Mominul Haque drove Chittagong to a comfortable position though they are still trailing by 66 runs, after scoring 423 for eight on day three. With just one day to go of the sixth round of the league, the match is heading towards a draw.
Nafis Iqbal was the other notable scorer for the port city with 56 runs. Mominul struck 37 boundaries in his 322 balls knock. Opener Abadullah Al Mamum made 37.
Barisal earlier was bowled out for 489 after Shahriaf Nafees (168) and Fazle Mahmud (133) hit centuries.  The result of the match however would have no impact as Barisal had already moved into the Tier-1.

Rajshahi vs Sylhet
Ruman Ahmed’s 106 only helped Sylhet avoid the innings defeat as they could set on 24 runs target for Rajshahi after making 242 in the second innings.
Rajshahi made 26 without any loss to seal the deal with 10 wickets. Resuming the day 11 for no loss, Sylhet batsmen, apart from Ruman, couldn’t show any maturity. Ruman slammed 14 fours and four sixes in his fluent knock.
Sylhet rode on the centuries of Farhad Hossain (144) and Hamidul Islam (105), piled up 395 in its first innings following Sylhet 176.

Khulna vs Rangpur
A full over game is possible on the third day and Rangpur amassed 324 for seven riding on Tanvir Haider’s 105. Dhiman Ghosh made 69 while Suhrawardi Shuvo was not out on 66.
Khulna took the upperhand by leaving Rangpur 82 for five at one stage but thanks to these batsmen Rangpur bounced back in the game. With one day to go, a draw is likely result
