It was a bad day for Bangladesh as not a single player could advance to second round neither in the boys singles nor in girls singles event of the Walton 29th Bangladesh International Tennis Group-V Tournament.
The matches of the main draw began yesterday at the National Tennis Complex in the capital although Finance Minister AMA Muhith inaugurated the tournament on Sunday.
A total of 14 girls singles and seven boys singles matches were held on the opening day.
It was interestingly to mention that most of the Bangladeshi boys were eliminated by their Indian opponents. On the other hand local girls went down to opponents from different countries.
