3 robbers held

Police arrested three robbers with looted goods in Jamalpur Sadar upazila early yesterday.
The arrested robbers are Rubel, 25, of village Dighpara in Sherpur Sadar upazila, Motaleb, 35, of village Alsi Bhatia Gaon in Jhenaigati upazila and Ansar, 38, of village Mararkandi Khaspara in Sherpur Sadar upazila.
According to police sources, a gang of 14 to 15 robbers swooped on Milon Bazaar in Madarganj upazila at around 3 am. The robbers tide up night guard Solayman and broke open the shutters of three shops and decamped with goods worth about Tk 10 lakh in a truck.
Police of receiving the information from residents set up check posts at various places to nab the robbers. However, the police managed to catch the fleeing robbers with the booty at a police check post at Chhankanda on Jamalpur-Sherpur Bridge at around 4 am. Police also seized the truck.
