BNP leader Dudu sued

UNB, Ctg

A case was filed yesterday against BNP Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu on charge of issuing death threat to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Nurul Alam, President of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Rangunia Upazila unit in Chattogram, filed the case against Dudu with the court of Chattogram Judicial Magistrate Joyonti Rani Roy.

Plaintiff’s lawyer Advocate Iftekhar Samiul Chowdhury said the court took the case against Dudu into cognisance and ordered the officer- in-charge (OC) of Rangunia police station to investigate the matter.

Case details show Dudu openly issued death threat to Prime Minister during a private TV channel talk-show Monday.

Shamsuzzaman Dudu, a former president of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student body of BNP, is now acting as JCD council’s appeal committee chief.
