A livelihoods improvement project launched at the Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) targeting the urban poor communities living at the city corporation areas. Government of Bangladesh and the Department for International Development (DFID) jointly launched this national project yesterday in a programme held at Bangataz auditorium in the city to reduce urban poverty with financial and technical support of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The project titled “Livelihoods Improvement of Urban Poor Communities Project” (LIUPCP) aims to contribute to balanced, sustainable growth by reducing urban poverty in Bangladesh and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 that call for ‘leaving no one behind’.
