JnU 'A' unit admission test result published
The results of admission test for the first year honours courses under ‘A’ unit (Science Faculty) of Jagannath University (JnU) for the academic session 2015-16 has been published yesterday, a press release issued by JnU Public Relation Office said.
A total of 57,703 admission seekers applied for the entry test while 48,435 aspirants participated in the exam. Among them, only 10,095 examinees passed the admission test.
The results are available at university notice board and it can be viewed from the university website www.jnu.ac.bd. Earlier the admission test was held on Friday.
SUST CSE Carnival begins Nov 27
A two-day Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) carnival will be held on Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) campus on November 27 and 28.
Computer Science and Engineering Department Society of the university will organise the event for the 5th time. It is a large national event in the country.
This year, programming competition, software competition, project showing and gaming contest are the main event in the carnival. Students from any universities of the country can participate in the programming competition.
Software competition contains two platforms-- web and mobile. One team can participate from one university in the fixed platform. Registration for the gaming competition is open for all. The last date to registration for the events will be ended on November 5. But registration for gaming completion will be continued till November 15. Weeklong art exhibition begins at DU
A weeklong art exhibition titled 'Ten Dimensions' began at the Fine Arts faculty of Dhaka University (DU) on Sunday.
DU Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the exhibition organised by the Fine Arts faculty of DU, a DU press release said yesterday. Professor Nisar Hossain, dean of the faculty of fine arts of DU and Biswajit Goswami Lecturer of Drawing and Painting department of the fine arts faculty were present on the occasion. Ten students of Drawing and Painting department are taking part in the exhibition. The exhibition will continue till November 7.
Chinese university to provide technological edn
The authorities of Yunnan Open University, China and Eastern University in a meeting decided to strength bilateral existing co-operation with the both universities, says a press release.
The meeting was held on Eastern University campus at Dhanmondi in the capital on Sunday. Shi Huijun, vice president of China Yunnan Open University and Abul Khair Chowdhury, chairman of Board of Trustees of Eastern University, led the meeting on behalf of their universities. Yunnan University offers the students of Eastern University for internship and acquired knowledge themselves from Chinese advance modern technology with physical visit.
Wu Jiaping, director, Qu Zhiwei, director of Yunnan Open University; Enayet Ullah, former chairman of Board of Trustees of EU; Muhammed Siddique Hossain, treasurer & acting vice chancellor, EU; deans and registrar of Eastern University attended the meeting, among others.
Day-long Club Carnival 2015 held at NSU
North South University (NSU) held their annual daylong event ‘Club Carnival 2015’ on NSU campus at Bashundhara in the capital on Saturday, says a press release.
The inaugural ceremony was held at 10:30 in the morning where MA Kashem, chairman, Board of Trustees, was the chief guest of the carnival and Gour Gobinda Goswami, vice-chancellor (in-charge), chaired the ceremony. After the formal inauguration, chief guest visited 19 club stalls presenting each club of the university with other guests.
Bijoy Sahoo, executive dean, Emdadul Haq, director, Student Affairs, NSU, gave speeches where M Gias Uddin Ahsan, dean, School of Health & Life Sciences, Md Sirajul Islam, dean, School of Engineering & Physical Sciences along with other academic and administrative heads, Faculty members, Clubs members and students attended the carnival.
Club carnival has been a regular event of all existing clubs where individual club shows their regular activities, mottos with innovation, diversity and harmony and brings them up through various presentations.
JU admission test concludes
SAVAR: The admission test for first year honors courses of Jahangirnagar University (JU) under academic session 2015-16 concluded yesterday.
The admission tests for C5, C6, C8 and C9 of C unit under Arts and Humanities faculty were held yesterday, the last day of admission test.
The results of all faculties and institutions were published while the results of C5, C6, C8 and C9 under Arts and Humanities faculty will be published after 12am yesterday.
A total of 2, 26, 572 admission seekers took part in the test against 2, 000 seats under six faculties and two institutes, JU deputy register Mohammad Ali said. The date for viva- voce would be announced soon, university sources said.
