Rohingya man killed in Teknaf ‘gunfight’

A Rohingya man, a suspect in the murder of Jubo League (JL) leader Omar Faruk, was killed in a reported gunfight with police in Teknaf upazila yesterday. The deceased was identified as Habib Ullah, 40, son of Ali Ahammad of Noyapara area. Officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradip Kumar Das said tipped off that Habib and his associates will commit robbery at Noyapara Mochoni registered camp a team of police conducted a drive there.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the robbers fired gunshots on them, forcing them to fire back in self-defence that triggered the gunfight.
