One killed in road accident

A village veterinary physician was killed in a road accident in Jashore on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Anisur Rahman, 40, son of Olier Rahman, a resident of of Shakahrigati village under Jashore sadar upazila.
Shaheb Ali, bother in-law of the victim said that the physician died on the spot as a truck ran over him while he fell on the ground from his motorbike being knocked by a passengers bus.
Sheikh Taslim Alam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station confirmed the incident.
Husband flees leaving wife dead at Chandpur hospital
UNB, Chandpur
A man went into hiding leaving his wife dead at a hospital in the town on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Tanzina Akhter, daughter of Munnaf Munshi of Faridganj upazila also wife of Jewel Khan of Torpurchandi area in Sadar upazila.
Syed Ahmed Kajol, medical officer of Chandpur General Hospital, said Jewel brought Tanzina to the hospital where doctors declared her dead after an ECG on Friday evening.
While doctors were examining Tanzina her husband Jewel fled the hospital. After waiting for one hour, the hospital authorities declared her dead and informed police about the matter. Anwar Hossain, Sub Inspector of Chandpur Model Police Station, said the cause of her death will be known after getting autopsy report.
Mehedi Hasan, the victim's elder brother, said his sister and Jewel got married following a love affair but they used to quarrel with each other. Tanzina's family filed a case in 2018 under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act against Jewel as he used to beat Tanzina, Mehedi said.
‘Model mosques to infuse human values to future generations’

Jatiya Sangshad Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, yesterday said the present government is constructing 500 model mosques across the country.
“The model mosques are being built in the sole efforts of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The mosques will play important role in infusing human values to future generations on way to build a peaceful, prosperous and enlightened society,” she said.
The Speaker made these observations while laying foundation stone of the ‘Pirganj Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre’ at Laldighee Bazar in Pirganj upazila of the district as the chief guest. The Public Works Department is implementing construction works of the ‘Pirganj Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre’ at a cost of around Taka 12 crore. The Speaker said these mosques would ensure more facilities for pious Muslims to conduct religious activities, rituals and studies in the library there peacefully in congenial atmosphere. “The Present government has given priority in building these model mosques where the Musollis will conduct their five time prayers daily and children get facilities for religious education,” she said.
Earlier, Dr. Shirin paid floral tribute at the grave of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s husband and nuclear scientist with international repute, Dr M A Wazed Miah, at his family graveyard in his ancestral village of Laldighee Fatehpur in Pirganj upazila.
