Workshop on robotics held at BGC Trust University

A day-long workshop titled ‘IOT, Quad-copter and Robotics’ was held in the seminar room of BGC Trust University on Thursday, says a press release. Japan-Bangladesh Robotics Advance Technology Research Centre (JBRATRC) under the supervision of Robotics Club, Department of computer science and engineering of BGC trust university Bangladesh organised the workshop. Chairman and founder of Japan-Bangladesh Robotics Advance Technology Research Centre (JBRATRC) Engr Farhan Ferdous participated in this workshop as resource person. He deliberated about the rules of procedure of Japan-Bangladesh robotics and ‘walking robotics stable generation’ in the seminar.
Fakir Mashuk Alamgir, advisor of JBRATRC and assistant professor of East West University, delivered his lecture on future of non-natural intelligence and the technical director of JBRATRC and CEO of Robotec Valley ASM Ahsanul S Akib, Aminur Rahman Roni, Misuzur Rahman Parvez, Saiful Islam Shanto attended in the workshop on behalf of the team.
This workshop was presided over by the chairman and the associate professor Nurul Absar and Vice-Chancellor Prof Soruj Kanti Singho Hazari of BGC Trust University, Bangladesh was chief guest.
Prof Mohammed Shahadat Hossain from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Chittagong was the special guest. More than hundred students of the department of Computer Science and Engineering joined in the workshop. After completion of the workshop, they were given the certificates.
RUET celebrates 16th founding anniversary

Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has observed ‘University Day’ amid joy, enthusiasm and fanfare marking its 16th founding anniversary yesterday. The day’s programme began in the morning with hoisting of national flag followed by plantation of tree saplings and launching of a database on campus. Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the university Prof Rafiqul Islam Sheikh opened the daylong programmes. Marking the day, a large number of teachers, students and staff brought out a colorful rally that paraded through the campus. A discussion was also held at the Central auditorium. Addressing a brief meeting on the occasion, VC Prof Islam sought cooperation from all quarters to run the university peacefully and successfully. He said a total of 1,230 new students are being enrolled in 18 departments in the technological university every year at present and around 3,500 students are availing the education opportunity in total. “We have adopted a Tk 600-crore mega plan for elevating the academic activities through more need-based infrastructure development,” Prof Islam added.
