National Board of Revenue (NBR) has detected around Tk 180 crore tax dodge of 103 local companies, which are taking the bond facilities.
Dhaka Customs Bond Commissionerate, under NBR, conducted 142 drives from February to July this year and detected the customs and tax evasion by the companies.
Talking to the news agency, NBR Chairman Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said the government is providing bond facilities
to the companies for industrialization and export
diversification.
“So, we are taking strict actions against the misuse of bond facilities. We are taking necessary punitive measures against the customs and tax evasion,” he added.
He said the government is accelerating the process of conducting sudden drives in the bond warehouses and monitoring activities.
