Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered smuggled Indian drugs and arms worth of Taka 11,67,56,355 from different frontiers of the district from January to August of this year.
These seized goods include 14,195 bottles of phensidyl, 7,425 grams of heroin, 547 bottles of foreign liquor, 38.400 kg of hemp, 2,10,071 pieces of yaba tablet, 11 foreign pistols, seven one shooter guns, 60 rounds of bullet, 59 cocktails and 1,750 grams of gun powder.
Commanding Officer (CO) of 53 battalion of BGB Lieutenant Colonel Md. Mahbubur Rahman Khan said, with a view to keeping frontiers of the district safe BGB has been remaining alert and has also been conducting continuous raids.
