One hurt in C'nawabganj crude bomb blast; 1 held

A man was injured in a crude bomb explosion at his house in Shibganj upazila yesterday morning.

The injured Tasim Ali, 40, is the son of Sirajul Islam, the owner of the house.

Tasim is being treated at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. His father was detained for interrogation, police said. Shahbazpur Union Parishad member Abdur Rashid said Tasim had been injured after several crude bombs went off in his room in the morning. Parts of the house were also damaged.

Shibganj Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) (investigation) Atikul Islam said Tasim and his father Sirajul are supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami.
