BCB on course for different teams for three formats: Minhaj
Shanto in selectors radar after his ton against Sri Lanka

As Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon emphasized on format-based team in a bid to thrive in every format of the cricket, chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu said they have already prepared a structure to materialise the plan. He revealed that they are preparing three teams for different formats from the pool of 60 cricketers and looking forward to develop them through giving them chance at different platforms like national team, A team and HP.
We have to prepare three teams for three formats, Minhajul said at SBNCS in Mirpur yesterday. We have a pool of 55 to 60 cricketers from where A team, HP and national team players are being selected. Players for the practice match are given from here. Players who will perform, will be given opportunities, he added. We have to prepare our second team from HP and A team; we have to start with them. Some players are performing well here. Some players are pushing hard for a spot. We are preparing them so that they can be called to play in national team when needed.
Bangladesh will be playing a two-day practice match against Afghanistan from September 1 ahead of the solitary Test series. Ahead of the practice match, Minhajul said that there is another 60 cricketers list which is also contained with some first-class match cricketers and rising players.
We have divided into two teams, red and green. We have not been playing red ball cricket (Test) for long time now. Thats why we arranging this, he informed. There is a pool of 60 players (beside HP players). Some first class players are there too. We are preparing some emerging cricketers from there, he concluded.
In the meanwhile, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who struck a brilliant 133-run knock against Sri Lanka High Performance team in Khulna gave selectors a food for thought about his inclusion in the Test squad.
There are some players in the HP team, who played really well and amongst them Shanto is the one, said Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu.
So he is in our consideration. Well discuss the matter when well sit with coach, team management. We have already discussed with them about the design of the team. Hopefully well finalize the Test team within tomorrow, he added.
That Shanto is in the selectors radar was also endorsed by another selector Habibul Bashar Sumon who said that Shanto is a good alternative.
He has been playing really well in domestic cricket and also he had some good performance in some four-day matches in India. Even though he couldnt do well in International cricket, he is in our consideration. Despite after poor performance in International cricket, he kept on piling runs in domestic arena. Thats good sign, Bashar said of Shanto.
