Indian team visits planning ministry

A 15-member visiting Indian national defense college delegation, led by Major General Suresh Chandra Mohani, yesterday visited the Ministry of Planning in the city as part of its strategic neighborhood study tour. Planning Minister MA Mannan welcomed the delegation at the NEC conference room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area, said a ministry press release.

Planning Division Secretary Md Nurul Amin made a power-point presentation on the occasion on the formation and operations of the Planning Commission while General Economics Division (GED) member of the Planning Commission Dr Shamsul Alam made another power-point presentation on the country’s Five-Year Plan, Perspective Plan 2021 and 2041 and Delta Plan. The Planning Minister apprised the Indian delegation of various socio-economic progress of the country including in education, health, power and energy, agriculture, import and export and physical infrastructure sector. The delegation members lauded highly the role of the planning strategies of Bangladesh behind the unimaginable development of the country.
