7, 000 illegal gas lines cut off in Gazipur

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, Gazipur zonal office disconnected over 7,000 illegal household gas connections in different areas of the city yesterday. Titas gas authority in association with the district administration conducted the drives in Kewa, Ozilaba, Bhangnahati areas yesterday.
Manager of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, Gazipur zonal office Engineer Ajit Chandra Deb said a team of Titas gas authority, Gazipur office conducted the raid, led by executive magistrate Fatematuz Zohra, in those areas of the city and disconnected more than 7,000 meters illegal lines from 500 houses of the areas. They also seized huge amount of pipes and other materials used for illegal gas lines.
Manager of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, Gazipur zonal office Ajit Chandra Deb, deputy manager Engineer Sabiul Awal and Eng Abu Sufian, assistant engineer Mirza Shahnewaj Latif and sub-assistant engineer Rezaul Haque were present during the time.
