In a bid to company his expecting wife, fast-bowler Rubel Hossain has taken a break from the ongoing training camp for the ensuing back-to-back home series.
Rubel’s wife Ishrat Jahan Dola is expecting to be mother for the first time very soon.
Minhajul Abedin Nannu, chief selector of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) made sure the news to media yesterday.
The chief selector said that Rubel will join the team once his wife becomes okay.
“Rubel took a break from the camp for the next one week,” said Minhajul Abedin Nannu. “As he is expected to be father very soon, he will join the camp once his wife gives birth to a baby,” Nannu told media.
In addition, the cricketer tied the knot with Dola, a daughter of cement businessman of Bagerhat in June 2016.
Rubel was in the drilling camp since it started on August 19. Due to the break from the cricket he won’t take part in the two-day preparation match which the players will play, split into two teams-Red XI and Green XI.
Bangladesh’s one-off Test against Afghanistan will commence from September 5 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chattogram. The BCB however is yet to announce its squad for the Test.
