Three drug ‘traders’ held with 50,000 yaba tablets

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested three alleged yaba traders with 50,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from Bridgeghata area under Kotwali thana in the city early Thursday.

The arrestees were identified as covered van driver Mohammad Shehab, 32, his assistant Mona,20 and Hasan Khan,24.

Based on secret information, a team of RAB-7 raided a covered van at around 4.30 am at Fringin Bazar Bridge ghat under Kotwali thana and recovered the yaba tablets from the Chassis of the covered van, said Masakur Rahman, assistant director of RAB-7.

The elite force also seized the covered van. A case filed with Kotwali thana in this connection. The arrested persons were handed over to Kotwali thana police.
