Suspected ‘rapist’ held with bullet wounds

Police arrested the prime accused of a rape case suspect from Khajura Joarderpara in Jhenidah yesterday morning. The arrestee was identified as Badsha Hossain, 30, son of late Montej Hossain of Khajura village under Jhenidah sadar upazila. Jhenidah Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mijanur Rahman said that acting on a tip-off that Badsha is living at Khajura area, the prime accused in raping of a seventh-grader, they went to arrest him.

Seeing the law enforcers, Badsha attacked them with a sharp weapon. The policemen had to open fire for self defence which injured him. He suffered a bullet injury in his leg and was rushed to Jhenidah sadar hospital for treatment. Badsha, along with his associates in the evening of on the Eid Day had violated a class seven schoolgirl as she came to meet her mother outside her house in the village.
