Md Nasiruddin, a professor of Library and Information Science at National University, won best paper award in an international conference held recently in Colombo, Sri Lanka , reports UNB. Prof Nasiruddin presented a paper titled ‘Changing lives of the sex-workers: a new approach for socially disadvantaged people in Bangladesh’ in the two-day conference on ‘Challenges for Information Professionals and LIS Services in the 21st Century’ and received the award, said a press release. The event was organised by the Sri Lanka Library Association on September 17 and 18. More than 500 participants specially library and information professionals from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, India, South Africa, Pakistan, Thailand and Malaysia attended the conference.
