SYLHET: A young man was killed and 10 others injured in a clash over stone lifting from a piece of government land at Bholaganj village in Companyganj upazila on Friday morning, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Chhoton, 25, a resident of the village. Witnesses and police said there had been a longstanding dispute over stone lifting from the land between the followers of Dulal member of Bholaganj village and Shahabuddin-Alim Uddin of Uttar Kolabari village. As a sequel to the dispute, the two groups equipped with locally made weapons locked into a fierce clash in the morning, which left Chhoton dead on the spot and 10 others injured. On information, police and members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Ruhul Amin, officer-in-charge of Companyganj Police Station, confirmed the incident.
