Daily Ittefaq country desk editor Mir Aftab Uddin Ahmed died at his Maghbazar residence in the capital yesterday, reports BSS. He was 74. He was suffering from complicated diseases for long. Aftab Uddin is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter and a host of admirers to mourn his death. He was buried at Azimpur graveyard following namaj-e-janaza in the afternoon. Born in Barisal district, Mir Aftab Uddin obtained BA degree from Barisal BM College and joined the Daily Ittefaq in 1972. National Press Club managing committee expressed profound shock at the death of Mir Aftab Uddin Ahmed. In a message of condolence, National Press Club President Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and General Secretary Quamrul Islam Chowdhury expressed deep shock and conveyed sympathy to members of the bereaved family.
