BAGERHAT: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon yesterday stressed the need for infrastructural development in the Sundarbans to promote tourism there, reports BSS. “The Sundarbans are part of world heritage and it should be protected for maintaining ecological balance,” he told journalists after visiting the Sundarbans, the largest single block mangrove forest of the world. A seven-member delegation of eight countries—Bangladesh, India, China, Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Bhutan—yesterday visited different spots of the Sundarbans. Menon led the delegation.
