Solakia Maidan ready to hold Eid congregation

All necessary arrangements have been completed to hold the Eid congregation in Solakia Maidan (Eid congregation ground), one of the biggest place for Eid prayers of the country, in Kishoreganj district. “The Eid congregation will be held on Monday next at 8:30am and Panel Imam Maulana Mufti Hifzur Rahman Khan will conduct it,” Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sarwar Murshed Chowdhury said yesterday after visiting the ground.

Two special trains named ‘Sholakia Special’ will be run on Bhairav-Kishoreganj and Mymensingh-Kishoreganj routes so that devotees can participate in the jamaat.

Local administration has taken adequate security measures for the country’s largest Eidgah (ground) with deployment of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police in large numbers. DC Sarwar said none of the devotees will be allowed to enter the ground without search.
