A total of 116 medical teams have been formed on emergency basis to detect dengue and provide treatment to the infected patients in the district, said Civil Surgeon Dr SM Abdur Razzaque. He came up with the information at the monthly meeting of the district law and order committee on Thursday with additional deputy commissioner Md Iqbal Hossain in the chair.
He also said the government has allocated Tk 10 lakh for Sadar hospital while Tk two lakh each for upazila health complexes for purchasing dengue detection kits. Besides, infected patients are getting free medical tests and treatment at the government hospitals in the districts.
So far, 260 people have been infected with dengue in the district while three of them died, he said. SM Shafiullah, superintendent of Khulna Police, said the law enforcement agencies have taken steps to prevent extortion and spread of fake notes at the cattle markets. Besides, members of law enforcement agencies will remain vigil to prevent smuggling of raw hide, he said.
A total of 487 criminals cases have been filed for various crimes, including murder and rape, in the district in the month of July.
