Bangladesh Bank (BB) has asked the scheduled banks to keep open their branches adjoining to the cattle markets in the Dhaka city area till August 11 (Sunday) to ensure smooth transactions. “Through special arrangement, banks can keep open its branches adjoining to the cattle markets in Dhaka city from 10am to 6pm as general banking and 6pm to 8pm as evening banking,” said a BB circular in the capital on Wednesday.
BB also instructed the banks to arrange allowances for the officials and employees, who will perform duties on the day. The central bank also asked all the banks to follow proper security guidelines to keep the banks and vaults secured during the Eid holidays. “During the holidays, banks will have to take measures to ensure security of IT systems, establishments and vaults,” the circular added.
