Twenty people were injured, including three with burns, as the gas cylinder of a moving bus exploded at Jorpool on Dhaka-Aricha highway yesterday, reports UNB. Officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station SM Quamruzzaman said the gas cylinder of the Mirpur-bound ‘Titas Paribahan’ bus from Chandra of Gazipur suddenly went off in the area around 4:30pm, leaving three passengers burned. At least 17 more passengers suffered injuries as they jostled for getting down from the vehicle swiftly to escape the imminent danger. The burn victims were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the capital while the rest were taken to Enam Medical College Hospital and Savar Upazila Health Complex.
