Shykh Seraj, director & head of news of Channel i and development journalist, has won the Gusi Peace Prize for his 'exceptional' media activism for the past three decades in reducing poverty in Bangladesh, says a press release. Seraj started his media career in 70s. He was the presenter of Mati O Manush, a programme on agriculture, on Bangladesh Television. He brought new agricultural ideas so that farmers could practise them on field, and policymakers could also give a second thought on technology transfer through media. He will be officially awarded the prize on November 25 at Philippine International Convention Center, Manila, Philippines by Gusi Peace Prize Foundation, the press release added.
