The British Council organised a certificate award ceremony yesterday to recognise 120 teachers from 12 cadet colleges who have completed a teacher training course, says a press release. The project was conducted in partnership with the British High Commission and Defence Ministry of Bangladesh. It was formally launched in January 2014 with 60 teachers, with an aim to improve the teaching and learning quality in all cadet colleges. This is achieved by delivering pedagogic training to all teachers. The project aims to train a total of 384 teachers by 2016. This ceremony officially certified the 120 teachers who have successfully completed the training programme. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid was the chief guest. Major General Md Mahfuzur Rahman, adjutant general at Bangladesh Army, and Mark Clayton, deputy British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, attended the event as special guests. Barbara Wickham, director, British Council Bangladesh, was also present at the ceremony.
