Separate zone for chemical factories demanded

BSS, Dhaka

Bangladesh Paint Manufacturer’s Association (BPMA) yesterday demanded a separate zone for chemical factories. A 12-member delegation of the association made the demand in a meeting with Industries Secretary Md Abdul Halim at the Industries Ministry in the city, according to a press release. BPMA President Rupali Haque Chowdhury led the delegation. Abdul Halim said the government is establishing different industrial cities and industrial pallis (village) for same type of factories in a place.

He suggested the BPMA leaders to talk to Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industry Corporation (BSCIC) for setting up a separate zone for chemical factories. The secretary urged the association to arrange a workshop to inform all paint manufacturers about the license for the production.
