Dilip Barua, a former national team footballer, died of lung cancer at his Chittagong residence on Monday. He was 70.
Dilip, a stopper back, who used to play for BWAPDA in the Dhaka First Division Football League, earned the distinction of representing Bangladesh in the maiden national team which took part in the Merdeka Cup Football in Malaysia in 1973.
