BCB looks for separate set up for women�s cricket

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is soon going to appoint selector, manager and computer analyst for their women’s wing to hasten the development of the women’s cricket.
The board at their last Board of Directors meeting which was held at BCB Management Office, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS), Mirpur on October 7 approved the proposals of the women’s wing.
The board recently floated advertisement seeking application from the interested persons above the mentioned posts.  
M A Awal Chowdhury, director and chairman of BCB Women’s Wing, admitted the matter and said that they already published advertisement  for the posts seeking application from eligible persons.
“Despite being a discrete wing of the board we have no selector, manager and computer analyst for the women’s wing. It became essential for their development. So, we were proposed to the board and that was approved at the last meeting,” said Awal Chowdhury yesterday.
“Thereafter, we have given advertisement regarding it in some media. We have already received some applications. Our board president, Nazmul Hassan Papon, MP will reveal it very soon,” Chowdhury told The Independent.
About new captaincy Women’s wing chairman said that they have kept the matter in mind but they are yet to decide about it.
“We have some important tournaments ahead. We will play a home series against South Africa and then go to Thailand on November to play the qualifier of the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 2016,” the chairman said.
“We want to achieve more success. For it, we need to make changes in the team. The change in captaincy may be as part of that change. But we have yet to decide it,” he opined.
“If we do change in captaincy then it will be disclosed by our board president,” he added.
