'Occupational therapy has a great role in treatment'

RAJSHAHI: Speakers in a discussion here yesterday underscored the need for creating public awareness on importance of occupational therapy for the betterment of patients and others concerned, reports BSS. They opined that occupational therapy has a great role in treatment but the people of our country, especially medical practitioners are not aware of it and for this reason, sometimes we get patients very late. AfsarHussain-CRP, Rajshahi divisional branch of Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP), organised the discussion at its office in observance of the World Occupational Therapy Day- 2015. "Being an agent for Change" was the main theme of the day. Former Deputy Director of Department of Social Service Mozammel Haque and President of Darus Salam Kamil Madrasa Sarwar-E-Kamal addressed the discussion as chief and special guests respectively with Suma Begum, Center Manager of AfsarHussain-CRP, in the chair. During her presentation, Sarmin Akhter, Clinical Occupational therapist, told the meeting that people take treatment from different health care professionals for their better health.
