Call to help uproot terrorism, militancy

Qawmi Madrassa Teachers’ Federation yesterday proposed forming a 10-member motivation committee involving alems in each upazila in order to uproot terrorism and militancy from the country, reports BSS. The federation made the proposal in a joint statement issued by its president Maulana Abdul Mazed Athari and secretary general Mufti Maulana Quamrul Islam. The statement said the motivation committees will make local people aware about terrorism and militancy. They will also place gather people’s opinions and place those to the government so that it can take necessary steps in this regard, it said. The Qawmi Madrasasa Teachers’ Federation also decided to provide all-out support to the government’s steps to eradicate terrorism and militancy from the country. The federation leaders expressed the hope that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will raise the proposal in parliament and take necessary steps for its implementation.
